Q:What is junction temperature?
A:The junction temperature is the active region of the LED, the point where the diode connects to the base, and where electrons jump between the two semiconductors to produce photons. Lower junction temperatures help LEDs produce more light and also reduce light decay. The junction temperature is influenced by the driver current, thermal path and ambient temperature.
